2014
ILLEGEAR began as an online-first brand before opening its first commercial outlet in Empire Damansara, marking the transition into physical retail due to growing demand.
2015 – 2017
Recognised as Malaysia’s leading custom laptop brand, ILLEGEAR earned over 95% positive customer reviews and won the Lowyat.NET Community Choice Awards for three consecutive years.
2018 – 2019
ILLEGEAR doubled its annual turnover and achieved Intel Titanium Partner status — the highest tier in the Intel Partner Alliance — becoming Intel’s first Enthusiast Partner in Malaysia.
2019
ILLEGEAR launched its first concept showroom in TTDI, Kuala Lumpur, designed to deliver a hands-on, personalised shopping experience for custom laptops and PCs.
2020
Expansion to Johor Bahru, establishing a larger showroom and dedicated service centre to support customers in the southern region.
2022
Opening of the Penang Bayan Lepas branch, handling retail and after-sales operations for northern Malaysia.
2023
In 2023, ILLEGEAR continued to refine its performance focus with the introduction of the NEO 14 AIR OLED, its first premium business and creator laptop designed for professionals who value portability, OLED visual clarity, and reliable performance. In the same year, ILLEGEAR expanded its ecosystem with the launch of the ORION Smart Adjustable Gaming Desk, marking the brand’s first step into workspace ergonomics and performance beyond computing hardware.
This milestone laid the foundation for ILLEGEAR’s vision of delivering not just high-performance systems, but a complete, integrated setup experience.

ILLEGEAR’s Johor Bahru showroom levelled up with a relocation to Taman Molek, offering a larger, more accessible space with full demo units, improved comfort, and enhanced service support for the JB community.
